I’ll be honest, I am not a fashionista & during winter, I tend to have a comfortable ‘uniform’ of jumper, jeans & boots. Recently, I’ve found myself wanting to buy new clothes & there’s been a few times where I have items in an ASOS basket. But I’ve avoided actually buying the items because 1. I have a student budget & 2. I want to be shopping more ethically. The goal is to actually wear what is in my wardrobe, rather than always wanting to buy more. For today’s blog post, its a day-to-day account of all the outfits that I’ve been piecing together in my half-asleep state & hopefully this will give some inspiration!
Most Monday’s I have yoga scheduled after lectures so it’s all about the comfort. Either I’m in gym clothes or leggings & t-shirt with a big jumper on over the top. This bright blue jumper is perfect as it’s that bit longer to wear comfortably with leggings compared to jeans.
A classic day spent in the library meant that I did stick with my standard uniform. But I found that using simple accessories like the leopard print belt & gold hoops made me feel as though I had pulled some sort of outfit together.
Jeans – ASOS
Cardigan – No longer sold at New Look but there are plenty on ASOS
These culottes are one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe but I’ve only tended to wear them on a night out. By dressing them down with a polo neck, converse & a chunky jacket, you’re good to go!
Culottes – No longer on New Look, but there is currently this GORGEOUS jumpsuit on the website: New Look
When these khaki trousers arrived in an ASOS order a few months back, I fell in love. They are the COMFIEST trousers you could wish for. Again, very practical for uni & wearing them with a jumper/top/cardigan makes a great alternative to wearing jeans.
A black denim skirt is an essential for any wardrobe & I have definitely got price per wear with this one! This day was absolutely freezing so I’m not sure the tights were a good option, but the chunky jumper definitely was! It was good to wear something a bit different to round up the week.
Jumper – British Red Cross
Skirt – New Look
I’ll apologise for the poor lighting in every single photo (it’s a student house!), but hopefully this gives some inspiration for how to style winter outfits that are smart casual & still make you feel ‘put together’. Lately, I’ve found that this has really helped with my productivity!
Let me know which one was your favourite & if you’d like to see more fashion posts!
Until next time x
