Re-evaluating My Screen Time (& The 5 Apps I’ve Been Using)

The iPhone screen time monitor has existed for a while now. I find myself checking it from time to time, especially on the days when I feel like I really haven’t put my phone down. To be fair, a lot of the time it’s WhatsApp messages or video calls and I feel that’s acceptable to exclude from the ‘you’re attached your phone’ statement for now.

When screen time is mentioned, it tends to be associated with negativity. High screen time tends to equal hours and hours spent scrolling through social media like Instagram and Tiktok and it’s a fine balance, I’ll agree. (You can read my post about using social media here)

Is a BirchBox Subscription the Perfect Treat?

Birchbox isn’t new at all, it just appears that I’m a bit late to the party.

The concept is a monthly beauty box, containing products which would cost much more if you bought them individually. It appears to be a good way to try out new products and the perfect treat.

I’ve thought about getting a Birchbox for a while and it was the 50% student discount (for the first box) which swayed me to be honest. After receiving two boxes, I can now report back on the products that have been delivered (including the RRP for full-size items in the box).

Do We Need To Distance Ourselves From Social Media?

In the recent times, I’ve found myself grab for my phone more and more. Messages, phone calls, face-time have become part of our daily lives more than ever and thankfully, technology is working wonders to keep us in touch with all of our loved ones during this time. Of course my screen-time tracker shows the minutes that are spent on Face Time, but the social media time keeps creeping up. I’ll be honest, I do love Instagram but sometimes we all need that reminder to just disconnect, even if it’s only for an hour. A bit of social media self-care I guess.

The 5 Things You Should Know About Yoga
